Programs and Services
Stress Management and Coping Skills
Our Parenting Classes teach parents general parenting skills, and help them develop and maintain positive relationships with their children. Many parents attending parenting classes are going through divorce, or are engaged in a custody battle. Stress management and coping skills offer techniques and psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person's level of stress, especially chronic stress, for the purpose of improving everyday functioning.
Counseling for Military Members and Families
This service is for active-duty, military personnel, veterans and their families, seeking counseling help, for a wide variety of mental, emotional and social needs, that are unique to our service men and women, and their families, often brought on by the constant, rotation of family members, in and out of the family unit.

Substance Abuse Treatment
Our substance abuse treatment involves complex psycho-education and counseling, that usually encompasses the piecing together of social treatment components, that aid our clients in the identification of mental and emotional drivers and responses that lead them abuse alcohol and other substances.
Special Needs Counseling,
Training and Advocacy
Our agency offers a separate platform, "Help Me Cope," for persons living with special needs, and their families. We ensure that they have access to the appropriate supports, and interventions, in order to facilitate, improved academic and social growth. We are genuinely concerned, with improving a person’s ability to function, in social, emotional, and behavioral capacities.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with certifications in Military Counseling, Sex Offender Treatment and Disability Advocacy. My professional background includes counseling as a Substance Abuse Counselor with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, at Stonewall Jackson Detention Center. I worked with Sims Consulting Agency, for several years, performing school-based, and home-based therapy with individuals and groups, of children, adults and families, with a wide variety of mental health and behavioral health diagnoses and substance abuse treatment. As part of my training, as well, I interned at The McLeod Center performing individual and group Substance Abuse counseling; Shifting Paradigms, co-facilitating Sex Offender and Anger Management Groups and South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation, counseling and training, individuals living with disabilities.
I also counseled offenders as a Probation Parole Officer, with the NC Department of Public Safety for about 14 years. I am a Mom of two children living with special needs. So, I have a special place in my heart for this population as a Counselor, Advocate and Trainer.
